Iburst and viruses

The point I am trying to make is that the iBurst network is set to become saturated with "virus" traffic which will make it unusable eventually to even those with hardware routers and Linux operating systems.

That's the truth.

Same old story. People are prepared to spend heaps on the PC and not even a measly R400 odd on a router.

Sure, if you configure your Linux installation correctly it is an effective firewall, but I find it strange then that the companies I work at, they all use routers, hardware ones (Cisco mostly) on links that have 1/6th the throughput of an iBurst line. The only outfit that uses a Linux firewall (running on a SBC) is a small ISP in Pretoria, and they're looking to replace it.
