iBurst in Durban

Thanks Dave, that'd be great. Let us know your speeds and signal strengths when you get it going, it'll be interesting to see these when you're sitting right under the tower.

:)

Let us know as well if your hairs starts to fall out or any other strange side affects of living right under a IBurst tower :)

again we forgot to introduce ourselves officialy, we are iburst and have come to this site to look after our customers. we believe customer complaints is a good feedback to better our service, and shying away is a perfect way to make your customers more angry. We are very lucky that there is an independent forum site such as "MY ADSL" where customers can vent their anger in public. we are not perfect at iburst, we are learning and our motto is "Customer is KINGS". It is a process that will need to infiltrate thouroughly throughout our staff over time. We read and address all the concerns expressed here particularly by our customers.

iBurst South Africa is the first iBurst network globally to operate broadband network independently. Opportunities for developing solutions for export are vast. As much as we critisize each other lets build this global advantage together. Thanks to all our customers who are making it possible for us to grow in this business. It's not easy. But we are doing all we can to make this pioneering excercise a success. And if there are any issues with our service, call centre we will address the issues and all the executives of the company do work at the call centre some times.. If you are not getting any joy from the call centre, call any of the executives. We answer all the calls.

Well i have played around for the last 6 hours and early impressions are wow!! Briefly local speedtest and downloads from tucows.co.za frequently up to 1mbps. 8 mb download from tucows in about 90s. International downloads 25-35 Kbytes/s. Web pages open fast. Also pleasantly surprised with pings, stable at about 350ms to google.com. Had very acceptable firefly (voip) chat with some friends in New Zealand. The bad - unable to get any p2p to work at all. Connection seems stable and i am quite "buried" inside the building. Now all i need is a tower covering westville north and i will be really happy.

Hi guys

In case anyone new wants to find out about iBurst in Durban I recommend going through X.
X

I signed up with X and they were excellent. Phoned on a Friday at lunchtime and a guy called Tristan met me after work on the same day to test the signal. It worked great and on Monday a technician came around to install.

Simple as that. :D
