iBurst UTD modem for sale

Hi guys

Does anybody need a iburst UTD, Wireless desktop modem?

I have ordered ADSL for our company and @ home about 7 months ago, and in between this period I got iburst to come and install their wireless techn @ our offices.

I won't swop iburst for any other connection, but back at work, my boss wants me to sell the modems, as Telkom already installed our ADSL line.

I advised him otherwise as I'm the IT administrator, but he's decided to stick with the Telkom modem for "Hellkom" knows what reason! Why hire me in the first place as the IT admin?!?!

That is the question I asked myself while reading your post. WHY would he hire you as IT Admin.

Are you seriously willing to stake a business' reputation/means of getting business (aka, earning revenue) on an unstable wireless solution that would stop working at the times you need it the most?

Given Telkom has had problems recently with their ADSL offerings, I'm aware of those. And by all means, use wireless as a BACK UP means to connect to the internet, but do not rely on it.

Small businesses (or any kind of business) should stay away from this type of technology, especially in this country.

iBurst and Sentech is a brilliant product for the guy at home, not a business.

So why did he hire someone like you as the IT Admin? Only he would know, but I can tell you this, he has the foresight and sounds like a boss who might be a little more clued up than you might think.

AcidRaZor : I completely agree with you that IBurst is great for home but not for the office due to reliability..............however, is it really necesary to be so rude to a new forum member? Or to anyone acually!!!!

If I received a reply like that on my first post, I can assure you this would be one forum I'd never return too. I hope you proud of yourself!

pls add IMHO to your post. i know personally a lot of the companies working with iBurst and most of them are happy with internet.

Well firstly I could understand why internet_on_steriods would want to keep the iburst in the mean time... it may serve as a alternative option WHEN the dsl line is down... if they remove that connection it simply means when DSL is down bye bye inet...

tho Iburst is not the best solution is was a intermediary solution till the DSL was installed...

Our company also worked with this router due to the fact that TELESKUM took 6 months to install a 512 LEASE LINE at our offices... now in 6 months our company couldn't operate without any form of internet so we attempted dial-up just to retrieve e-mails

now that the 512k line is in iburst went out
