Idea for an end-game boss

erm decreasing char levels maybe not thats a bit stupid :> since you don't get xp in raids etc but if you add something like a raider level apart from it then it can work, but being the best of the best means you wipe more then the rest =) way more, SK game spend 16 hours a day on muru / KJ to down him countless wipes guilds who follow tactics wipe a lot less.

Ok lets drop the loss of lvl, but the "gain of 2/3lvl's" is a good idea yea ?

raid lvlng not bad idea but the stretches between the levels should be enough that it is actually an accomplishment and not like the lol-ed rank system HGL had.

i would like to have perma eath option in wow, but on separate permadeath servers otherwise the tossers would wine to much.

Don't forget the problems you'll face by losing a level or 2...you will have to find some garbage gear somewhere, since all your gear will require max level. The same would go for spells and talent points gained at the top level.

I like the innovation, but perhaps the practical application is a little too awkward and complex to be realistic.

lol if you wipe 37 times in a night based on the OP's suggestion your whole raid will be what, about lv 4, thats a lot of leveling to redo!

Permadeath would only work on seperate hardcore servers where the xp rate is much much higher and the drop %'s should also be much higher.

Everyone would roll shammies for re-incarnation :)

why i suggested separate servers; without the re-incarnate :D

And not to mention the hurt after losing a character to perma-death after months of development

I would be all for having a gatekeeper who requires a payment to let you in. Everytime you wipe, the gatekeeper requires a bribe to let you back in. This will end up costing raids high amounts of gold for consistent brain-dead wiping and really get the creative juices flowing to ensure your approach has a strategy.

Everquest used / does have an XP penalty for dying and yes, you can lose your lvl and any spells gained.

So it has been done and it wasn't so hard; just don't die when you hit your next level. ;)

As to permandeath! Eish, thats too much like reality!
