If Doom was done today

Doom 3 had it's moments but for me, was mostly a disappointment.

mmm, agreed, i actually fired it up the other day again. indeed had good moments but a bit cheesy at times

As far as I am concerned there has never been another game that has match Doom in terms of gameplay.

I second that. Played the first 6 levels on my pc the other day while my 3 year old and 6 year boys watched. They were terrified. LOL.
Doom got more exciting the harder the difficulty level was set. On the harder stages it was all about dodging fireballs and strafing like mad. Sometimes there would be dozens of monsters chasing you around looking for blood. It was mayhem and fun. Not many games has managed the sheer amount of onscreen mayhem of the more difficult Doom levels since then.

The most fun thing for me to do was run in to a room full of monsters, start a fight then run out. Then you stand there listening to them tear each other apart. Walk in afterwards and mop up!

Can build an entire base on another planet, can't fix a flashlight to a weapon... :wtf:

At least they fixed it in Resurrection of Evil. Looking forward to this though. They going back to what made them famous. A 'Run & Gun' style.

Your lack of D3 game time is a dissapointment...
