Hi.
Just thought I'd share what it was like dealing with MTN for a 3G special. Heard about a offer going at MTN, where you can get a 3G card on contract for R75, including 35MB of traffic.
Phoned Nashua Mobile - haven't heard of it
Phoned Autopage - haven't heard of it
Phoned MTN Fourways - haven't heard of it
Phoned MTN call centre - after being bounced around between 4-5 people, haven't heard of it
etc, etc
Got irritated, and thought this ain't worth it. Was wandering around Sandton City and see a booth being held by Impact MTN. Signed up, paid R130 connection fee and got my Novatel Wireless Merlin UMTS card and MTN SIM the next day. 3G coverage in Bryanston and Paulshof seems pretty good; will explore elsewhere later in the week
The software is a little flakey, and doesn't like having the card removed and re-inserted. It also doesn't like closing. So far, its the only negative in the package. The software is called Mobilink. Any ideas on where I can get update(s) ?
