Incoming connections

This was 2 months ago - is this still working and allowed? I am trying to setup on my side tonight but it doesn't seem to be working so just making sure if network still allows it and not my router being funny.
 
Ok, its still working and incoming connections are allowed. I was having a modem issued which resulted that it didn't work straight away.
 
I have my sim in a Hauwei B660 router. Incoming connections works 100%. Obviously I needed to set up port forwarding on the router first. I can connect to my plex server wherever I am.

Hi there,

I'm very glad that incoming connections are allowed through the Afrihost APN.

However, mine does not seem to work. I've set up port forwarding in my router etc but I don't think the problem is with my router.

I did a traceroute to my router's external IP address and it seems to time out before reaching my router. Please see the traceroute screenshot attached.

Could you please advise why this may be?

I've checked with the site you suggested and it states that the ports are closed.

Note that I've set up port forwarding on my router already and that the services are running and listening on my forwarded devices.

Am I correct in assuming that it might be a service provider issue because my traceroute example times out before reaching my router?

Not 100% sure but tracert uses default port I think, say 80 or so. After opening the ports, did you reboot ? Also I have had issues with port x forwarding to port y. Try port x to x as well. Also make sure you forwarding to right ip. If it is a Linux pc you forwarding, you need to open the ports for external access as well.

Also set the pc you forwarding to, ip address to a static one, otherwise you always gona have issues.

After all it ended up being firewall settings in my Raspbmc iptables.

I really thought this was not the cause but it ended up being just that.

Everything working now as expected.

Pleasure. Glad I could assist. Also messed around with my pi and learned that firewall blocks all ports by default. Fun little toy these pi's.
 
Does this still work. We've just tested and it doesn't seem to work.
