Intermittent signal on Microsoft 2000 wireless keyboard

Hi there

I have a Microsoft 2000 wireless keyboard and its starting to have signal breaks ive moved the receiver closer to my keyboard but still having the same problem that also goes for the replacing batteries and also the same problem.

Is it worth fixing or should i replace it and is there a Microsoft Repair centre in south africa that can repair the keyboard?


Please help.

As the keyboard works 2.4GHz, the same frequency as WiFi, it may be related to WiFi activity.

Plus any other cell phone activity.

I have that problem with my logitec G800 but I will soon be tossing this shst aside when my desk is built. Never going wireless again for gaming.

I had two different Microsoft sets for years and had that problem. I even got them to replace one - made no difference. I had a Logitech set before this Microsoft set, never had any issues. Now I'm back to a Logitech set, and again, no issues.

Its a design flaw - nothing you can do. It has nothing to do with Wifi or microwaves, because two of my logitech sets are unaffected and both of my Microsoft sets were affected.

Look at the frequency usage between sets rather than say design flaw outright

Ditto. My old wireless 2000 would work at 3 metres no problem. Now that I have replaced it after standing on my usb receiver, my brand new one even battles to work on my desk. Very frustrating.
