Is anybody else experiencing slow or no international access?

<edit>
Assuming there are still Sentech users around.....
Assuming they're not all on holiday....

Yup. No access here :S Internet was down from 5am to 6am as well.

I am actually quite impressed with the service right now.........

the local speeds rock. But it seems they have a nice cap on the international bandwidth. The 1st 500K-1MB goes at full speed. Everything after that drops and flat lines at 8K.

So all the cool little speed tests show full speed. Mean while, the moment the test finishes... you sit and wait, and wait.... and wait some more.

Speeds confirmed by NoWire reps in CT as well.

yeah I have confirmed this as well and have complained to sentech that broadband does not mean the first 20 seconds of a download... I suspeect they will now start tweaking this.... but then again will they? fact is it is still better then it has been for past two to three months....

I tend to schedule downlaods when I am not around...

as for surfing nice n speedy but the problem is when you do hit a content rich site sometimes you do wait because of their new capping/choking policy which if you ask me is not the contended broadband we all signed up for and not the service that I used to experience long ago when I first got Sentech.

My oppinion, if you have a speed ticket open, keep it open because this isnt what one should expect from a broadband provider.

vowthorn, try using the scheduler to start and stop the downloads every 40sec. That way you'll always get the faster starts ;)

That's just crazy, you gonna make lots of server admins mad by doing that, especially on FTP downloads. Sentech must sort the issue out.

When I mentioned this to a NoWire agent, he was shocked at how fast I was downloading. 8K was way above the 30:1 or whatever ratio. But then in the next breathe he added how his downloads were doing the same thing in a totally different part of town. He's always thought it was his tower starting to get more users... hahaha doubt that
