Hi
Not a new topic, but maybe I have more info, and hopefully, Tazz_tux, you can guide me with your helping hand....
First of all, I asked somebody on the IPcop forum to add support for the E620 card and HSDPA in general....
http://sourceforge.net/tracker/index.php?func=detail&aid=1678777&group_id=40604&atid=428519
davews basically provided a solution to my problem. It seems that IPCOP does not have usbserial compiled in and usbserial.c needs to be updated and recompiled. OK, for somebody who have zero knowledge of how to do this, it's a significant roadblock.
Using Knoppix, which at least gives you some better help, I managed to copy the Linux 2.4 tarball from a USB stick into the usr directory. I didn't know how to do that from the command line of IPCop - that's how useless I am!
I know I have to update the contents of usbserial.c and then compile and build it. That's where I hit another roadblock.
I also know I have to unzip the tarball to extract the default usbserial.c module to be able to update and compile it.
Any thoughts of where to from here? All from the command line? If I get this right the solution is a brilliant way for forumites to recycle an old computer into a firewall and wireless router via a wireless access point for a modest outlay in the region of R500...
I've been working on this on and off for months, it would be nice to get the whole thing wrapped up!
Thanks
