Basebands? Something in the modem?Update. Phone is fscked.
So I arrived in Scotland yesterday and took the 11 pro to the Apple store in Glasgow this afternoon. They tried a few things and did the full diagnostics which showed the issue was with the basebands which they are unable to replace.
Similar happened to me, in the US and i broke my ZA phone beyond repair (don't ask).Update. Phone is fscked.

But because it passed all the required tests for the trade in, they offered me £250.
So, talking in Rands, I paid 3000 for the phone and they offered me a trade in of 5000 to use against the purchase of another phone. So I gave them another 3600 and got the new SE. So 6600 for a new SE at a saving of about 3000 at SA prices.
So it never turned out the way I thought it would but can’t complain I guess![]()
Baseband … lies they can fix that issue it won’t be an over night thing but two days max they can get the IT department to fix that baseband thing technically… it’s not a hardware problem it’s software related meaning it’s blocked on a network so to active that iPhone they next to ask the network to remove the sim card restrictions on the iPhone … it’s a popular thing with foreign iPhones …Basebands? Something in the modem?
lol did you ask your friend about it?
All I’m saying it do your research before you give up on a good phone …

Taking an SE is a little downgrade from an iPhone 11 but hey that iPhone could have been sold for more even being network locked … it would cost you less to get it unlocked honestly … if you were willing to spend that money …
I can remember having an iPhone 3GS I’m talking about years back before the iPhone 5 was out … it was network locked as well but that time jailbreak was a thing … because the iPhone was jailbroken I could use it with SA networks because I install an baseband unlocker type of software via cydia ..
Then I kinda updated the firmware then I had what you had with the iPhone 11 which is network locked … so I paid a guy on gumtree who did network unlocks like T mobile or AT&T , ORANGE… all foreign networks which cost like R250 lol two days later it was unlocked and I was happy
Not trying to be smart or anything just thought I’d add something to this thread to get my points up …Sorry bud, but you are so far off the mark. It was bought unlocked and was working on Vodacom already.
It was unlocked, you need to read the OP and follow the thread. I had a 5 unlocked by the network some years back, it's not my first rodeo.

No no not the Indians geez … but I’m glad you sorted buddy … I mean no harm honestlyI did a lot of research and when I couldn't get it to work, I took it to Apple. None of us could get it working so I'm not sure who you would suggest would fix it? Certainly not the local Indian stores, so who else?
Anyway, I was fixing it to sell it and I ended up winning by a couple of grand as I have a new sealed SE to sell. Can't grumble with that, the phone meant nothing to me. I have a 13 btw.
It worked on everything. It was bought from an Apple store So unlocked to every network. Something happened during an OS update and it wouldn’t communicate with anything. You couldn’t even get it into DFU mode. It was, to quote the technical term, fscked. And it was nothing to do with being locked to a network. Also it’s strange that it worked on vodacom and you couldn’t get it working after that again … but if apple said something about the baseband that do mean it was working on limited networks …
Not even 3utools could work on this device ?It worked on everything. It was bought from an Apple store So unlocked to every network. Nothing. It was dead. Not even 3utools could work on this device ?
