Morning all,
In my effort to get my MBP ready for fulltime usage (yay, only about a week on the damn Dell left), I started relooking my iPhoto setup ...
History: Had installation failure on my Canon Software way back when, so imported photos directly into iPhoto. Got the software installed at a later stage, and imported photos via Canon Software. THEN, I decided to rather manage it all through iPhoto, so I imported the photos not in iPhoto yet into the iPhoto library.
The problem is now that I have "duplicate" photos in the library, ie when opening iPhoto, the thumbnails are duplicated, but pointing to the same file. I did a thumbnail rebuild, no success. Also, some photos taken during December 2006 are sitting in the library under 2007.
Basically, what I want to do is restart my iPhoto experience, and this is what I was thinking:
1. Move all Image files out of the Library, specifically directories Data and Originals (I think the Modified folder contains the rotated images and such, but iPhoto does that according to the tags in the actual image file?)
2. Clear out the whole iPhoto library
3. Restart iPhoto and import all images again
Am I missing something, or is there another way perhaps?
