Well, I speak to a lot of people on IRC, so this been disconnected constantly thing is starting to annoy the hell out of me.
I honestly believe its the traffic shaping software thats causing the issues, cause if I used a CGI based webchat, I dont get disconnceted. Only on mIRC which uses port 6667 (Pay attention here wbs).
So, if you want an uniteruppted chat, http://www.unix.za.net/irc/cgiirc/irc.cgi
Im sure you can tunnel chat through port 80, im just not 100% sure, I havent had to do it in years, so if anyone has the intructions, please paste them here.
