Is cellular affected by power cuts?

Highly unlikely...both MTN and Voda are on the ball with this. Serious money lost if they aren't.

Hell I know there are towers in some African countries that run generators 24/7.
 
The batteries are expensive and would need to replacement every 5 years, but then lots get stolen and they cannot resupply fast enough. They got genny's , but for a 3 hour load shed it is not worth driving to one tower while 10 is down.
