Is Telkom ADSL a reliable option?

Ok, thinking of the 2Mbps line rental with 20+20, then I'm pretty much at the same sort of value as Telkom's do Basic, but hopefully should be able to change package easier in the future (if necessary) with Afrihost.

A little nervous that their packages are up for revision at the end of the month, but hey..

From midnight to 6pm, usage doesn't count towards your cap. This is until month end, nothing has been said about it going forward. If they don't and you need/want it/change provider, just submit the cancellation before the 24th.

If you take the free router from Telkom on any of the Do packages you need to sign a 24 month contract which could cause problems if you want to upgrade to 4Mbps after a few months. You would need to check with Telkom in case you decide that you want to use the line for streaming purposes at a later stage as 2Mbps will probably not be fast enough.

I moved my line from Telkom to Web Africa several years ago in order to take advantage of one of their package deals and have saved myself a considerable amount over the years. The current Telkom Do packages seem to offer much better value than they did in the past. Web Africa has regularly increased the data allowance on my package as bandwidth costs have decreased. You must just choose the provider that you think will be most convenient/cost effective for the next two years etc.

As an example of prompt service form Telkom, I reported a phone line and ADSL service faulty for someone in CT yesterday. The fault was cleared by 10:00 this morning ..... and I received one progress SMS early this morning, with the fault clear just after 11;00.

No bad would you say ---- no arguments, no BS, just prompt action ....
