Isoftnet Responds to price war

Ye thats real clever people.... take the food and bite the owners hand.

Im glad you guys are proud of having no loyalty to a service provider. I'm sure they'r feeling REALLY stoked about all the time and effort they have put in to actually be part of the price war, not to mention all the assistance they give their users.

Let it please be noted, that ye some of these ppl have no loyalty, but for the record, im sure a large portion of us do value the service and especially the active participation by the few good ISP's that are regulars here at myadsl.

Please really now.....what use is a price war if everyone just stays where they are? You obviously didn't think that one through. Because one of the main reasons for the price war is to win market share, if everyone stays with their ISP's then what's the incentive for the price war in the first place? :p

Fully agree with u stoke, and NO, on the contary, i didnt say or imply that axxess gives less service. im simply saying dont blatently tell those people that are giving u good service (WHOEVER they are) that u will show them no loyalty. You obviously have some support for axxess... which is EXACTLY what im getting at! GREAT!

If NO ONE shows any form of support, then these few ISP's wouldnt bother being here.

sorry u guys totally missed my point. nevermind... the message was directed towards the ISP representatives here.

If the price difference is substantial... YES jump ship by all means, cos we;ve been ripp'd off by just bout every1... but please... if ur telling ISP's ur gonna jump ship every month for a measly R5-10 difference... then commmmmmmon... there is ZERO loyaltly... and that is sad.

These guys run businesses.. it is always in their best interest to be competing here.

Personally, I've upgraded my account with Axxess in light of their new prices. While R150 x 3 months is a lot, I feel it's worth sticking with them, since my dealings with them have only been a pleasure.

I'm loyal, but only up to a point. I find Axxess' prices more than acceptable, and for me, their service makes up the difference in price with any other isp.

Silversurfer, you're right for R5 or R10, it's silly to change ISP, but we're talking a difference of R150 between Web Africa and Axxess at the moment. I'm using Telkom at the moment and definitely want to get away from them. I want to sign up with Axxess, but if they can't atleast meet Web Africa's 3 month special then I will have to sign up with Web Africa. I can't justify spending an extra R450 over 3 months.

On the topic of being a loyal customer - as I've said before, I totally believe in being loyal. But unfortunately because I'm on a very tight budget I have to put my bank account first.

Yup, R150 is plenty, and im pretty sure the ISP's would expect the jump in that case.

I was just bugg'd by how how calous some of the posters were being, to the point of making jokes bout loyalty. Like i said in my first post on this topic, dont bite the hand of those trying to feed u. Those sort of comments effect us all, and i wanted to make it clear that not all of us, take loyalty so lightly. simple as that.

I myself have been with about 4 different ISP's this year alone!! most changes were due to each one slowly not able to provide decent uncap'd solutions, not soooo much price, but i remember which isp's were the most helpfull and dedicated, and the second their offerings suit my needs, id be back with them.

Yea, there are some conspiracy theories runnin around that the ISP's have/are ripping us off bigtime in regards to the bigger cap accounts, like why can webafrica afford to offer such a low price for 30gigs, implying that their cost price has been in that region the passed few months, meaning some MAJOR ripping off, but on the whole, the isp's have been also been shafted by telkom, providing 3gig accounts for a measly R5-10 odd profit per account. They deserve a lil more respect for their awsome service, and working hard to get us accounts bigger than 3gigs, than they were getting in this thread.

im still gonna stick with axxess, the R150 doesn't bother me too much, i like them and their service, too many changes been happening lately, i'll sit and wait till its all over and then see where i should sit for the next year! Its only R450, its a night out drinking man! Rather spend in indoors playing BF2 online :)

Customer loyalty - blagh - I dont care what anyone says - the ISP is taking my money - oh sure they're providing a service but its on for which they are being well remunerated. Case closed.

Sorry if it sounds callous but I work hard for my money so if I can save r150, r50, or even r15 by switching to a less expensive ISP then so be it. If an isp doesnt want to match another ISPs deal of the day then fine - bring out a new deal - say for example an extra 30gb for r100 or throw in a free toaster - or whatever.

Mix it up a little. Make it worth my while to stay. Good customer service shouldn't be a selling point - it should be demanded.

If we all had "loyalty" most of us would still be on a dialup with MWeb or Iafrica paying exorhbitant prices for crappy service.

:p I agree with you, running an ISP is a business, we are the customers! lets not forget this fact. They need to be more competitive in a fast moving, fast growing and obviously price sensitive but lucrative market. I know that somewhere the bottom of the market will be reached - this is where good customer service, track record and value added products comes into play, to early still - for the moment PRICE STILL RULES!! :p

Silver - with the current mentality that has been created by the Telkom to a large extent, and also to some extent by South AFRICA HAVING a less than adequete gene pool, I doubt that your words will get much further than the visual cortex of many of the people reading this. It is a sad state of affairs

To you unfaithfull sods - remember "customer service" is a two way street. A service provider can easily require you to sign a sneaky contract in order to obtain service and then pull the proverbial Rabbit out of the Hat when they have hooked you - as in the case of AYCE. I can tell you now that even if AYCE were offering a 30G account for significantly less than all the others I would not take them up on their offer - simply because I know they are disloyal to the customer. I would imagine that if customers are loyal to a company that was itself lyal from the start - that in a large proportion of the cases the company would continue to be loyal to the customer. Remember that companies are run by emotional beings.

My question is what kind of customer service do you think a delinquent disloyal monkey deserves? Lets hear from both clients and ISP's :D

Well said Byrd, however, my question to Axxess, Webafrica, Allyoucaneat and the likes is "why did it have to take companies like Hyperlink and saol.com to offer the absolute low prices before you guys came to the party ?"

From where I'm sitting, there were a few ISP's out there that profited handsomely charging over R550 / month for 30 Gig until the "real" good guys passed the savings directly to the customer - the big profiters had no choice but to respond.

Makes you think .. doesn't it ??

With that in mind, ask yourself the question "who has been loyal to the customer, not who has been loyal to the ISP".

Yes it does make one think. I was always under the impression that the ISP's were making very little profit on these accounts. You would obviously know more about the profit margin than I do. But to think that ayce was charging R980 for 30GB. Surely this was a blatant ripoff?

With that in mind, ask yourself the question "who has been loyal to the customer, not who has been loyal to the ISP".

Very good point Pedantic. Nice to look at it from the other side.
