Although I like to bitch about stuff, I do most of it just to poke fun at people and see what they respond to, much like a like-minded individual running the site www.jeeva.net

He provokes people then study their reactions. It's funny how worked up people can get about simple things like the internet.

Great for your own research but too my knowledge this is not the purpose of these forums. These forums are here to provide support to users of technologies that works for them.

Like I mentioned in other boards as well, I have connections within Vodacom, I know what their profit margin is on these things. I have connections within WBS, and I have all but sucked their cocks to get them to participate more in these forums just to raise the PERCEPTION that they're more pro-active and care about the little things (which in my opinion they do... but they also have the "idiot-factor" working there)

As most of us have connection at Vodacom or within other companies. Let's be frank and say that companies are in business to make money or else they woudn't exists. Granted bandwidth in SA is expensive but let's not kill something before it's even started. We all seem to have the all or nothing attitude about wanting everything at once. Maybe if we started motivating people to use 3G the increased usage will assist in bringing down cost as has happened with many services in the past ?

That is the attitude of most businesses, it is very rare where you get good customer service with a good product. I've ran 2 successful businesses and I'm building up a small consultancy firm who already does didata/microsoft/siebel/eskom/sanlam/absa/standard bank contracts. THEY CALL US, not because we're cheap, but because we DELIVER GOOD CUSTOMER SERVICE. You can have the worst product on earth (like Sentech) and if you have brilliant customer service, you can get away with murder.

This statement scares me because I would expect a more professional attitude from someone that has so much experience instead of being a jerk online ? If your attitutde online is anything like this in real life I feel really bad for your customers.

R2/meg is still alot. It should be around R0.90 max. Ask anyone else about this. Go do your own research for once.

Granted it is still expensive but so was hard drive's when they first came out. Once again if more people start purchasing these services the better chance of pricing coming down. Fact is it has come down but it is easily overlooked and I am sure at even 20c / MB people will still complain because it's not free ?

I've been on the internet since 1996, so you could assume I know quite a bit on what has been happening since and how this whole "thingamajik" works

Once again a scary statement because it seems that in all that time the lessons in net etique and courtesy passed you by. The impression created suits that of a bored 15 year old rather then an experienced business man ?

Yes you can see this as a personal attack but as you get frustrated with people that do "stupid" things I think that people should reflect some level of courtesy and respect to others and maybe act their "age" as such especially on a forum which will hopefully draw customers rather then chase them away ?

Diago, I don't see it as a personal attack at all.

What I would like to say though is that I can act any way I want to online if I so please. Even disguise myself as a hot lesbian blonde with big baloons. That is not a matter of discussion at this stage.

Sure, my netiquette and courtesy online is somewhat left to be desired, but like I mentioned in my post, I use this as a medium to let out some extreme frustration/anger or have some really good fun when time does not permit me to have it IRL.

In my experience the internet is just a big place full of immature people. I choose to be immature here to balance out my professional life. If I wanted to reflect my business savvy and / or intelligence IRL, why would I post such stupid things in the first place?

Because my job requires me to be at full attention and think on my feet constantly, it really tires me to even just write out this response in a semi-intelligent manner instead of my usual "suck my balls" approach everyone knows and loves about noone.

Why do you think I even CHOSE the nickname noone instead of my normal nickname?

Then again, I don't really have to explain anything to you.

I agree with you about how more we use 3G the cheaper it MIGHT get. Unlike harddrives (as in your example) it won't just get anymore cheaper because the bandwidth offering won't go any higher because of the technology itself and the actual price for bandwidth.

That is why I mentioned somewhere that I can't wait for the price wars to begin in a year or 2 (hopefully THAT soon) because we won't rely on just on national operator charging an arm and a leg. Providers would then be able to switch services and use cheaper means to bring broadband to its consumers.

However, in history I have noticed that most savings made by a company usually does not filter through to their customer base. Example, a loaf of bread costs you R3 to make, and you sell it for R6 (prices aren't real, for example only)

If you can make that same loaf of bread for R1.50 by using Pick'n'Pay branded flour, you're not nessacarily going to drop your price of the bread by R1.50.

It's called greed. And goes hand in hand with the "we want everything now or else" attitude you so kindly pointed out.

Anyway, to end off on "the lighter side of" I just posted the last several posts on this thread to piss people off.

Mission accomplished.

While that is true, there are people called moderators that have the power to cut you off when you straddle that thin red line.

Tone it down, keep it constructive without being offensive.

I invite, nay, challenge the moderators to sensor me. I don't mind at all. rpm is a very nice dude, and I'm sure I haven't been offensive to the extent of attack someone's personal life in such a way that they now need psychological help to overcome it?

If so, please speak up, it's always good to confront your demons.

IC, you might be king of the posts, but I can still de-rail a thread quicker than I can open a webpage :D

I don't care about being the king of posts, I do want to keep this forum relatively clean though. If you haven't noticed I am the moderator for this forum, and I will put foot if pushed too far ;).
