I received my 256 Sentech device today! How to get internet access on my linux box?
The scenario:
I have two machines, machine A (running XP corp == crap) was used to install the MyWireless device (USB connected) and Machine B (Linux Mandrake 9.2) was setup to use machine A as a gateway..... Well the rest you all know about! MTU and proxy's and all that ****e about not being able to browse the net on the Linux machine. I dont know what to do anymore, which is the best, and how do I go about to get it working with the "USB" connected MyWireless device?
Some details on my setup:
Machine A:
XP (SP1 NOT INSTALLED)
ip addy: 192.168.0.1
subnet: 255.255.255.0
ICS enabled
Machine B:
ip addy: 192.168.0.2
subnet: 255.255.255.0
gateway: 192.168.0.1
dns or nameserver: 66.18.68.1 or 66.18.65.1 (obtained with ipconfig /all)
These machines are connected via a cross wired network cable.
Should I use the device on Linux? How? Where do I get drivers and how relaible are they?
Could I fix this problem sothat my linux machine could access any port and addy through the existing XP machine?
Please help this forum says allot of things but nobody suggests the best and easiest solution out of the lot! If XP is going to restrict things, maybe I should get help from some of the guys on this forum that has got it working on linux.
Thanks in advance!
