Keyboard problem: HP Pavilion

I have a well kept HP Pavilion, daily driver, about 3 years old. Yesterday, I noticed that the backspace key had ceased functioning and on further inspection found that the apostrophe/quotation mark key, the 8 key on the number pad and the * key have also gone on strike.

I tried uninstalling keyboard drivers and restarting the machine to no avail. Booting to a Linux disk does not help either. I have to assume keyboard failure - where can I seek a replacement locally?

Hello - I have just encountered the same problem. 3 Keys i.e. H G and Backspace are slow to respons i.e. need to press more than once to register. Did you find a solution?

No, I remapped the keys that were faulty and used it like that, after a bit some more keys failed so I used an external keyboard until I got a replacement machine. There are keyboards available on AliExpress for a reasonable price but it's a nightmare to swap it out on that particular laptop - lots of disassembly and some plastic welding...
