Kidney Stones

You guys not thinking of pethidine? Thats the thing they give you for severe pain in hospitals. Also the thing many people in healthcare get addicted too.
With my gallbladder removal there was complications and spend 3 weeks in hospital. They gave me those things in my drip and it was like instant 1L Brandy.
Even 29 year later I still get cravings for that stuff.
The 1L brandy part sounds great lol.

Pethidine is a toy.

I got morphine for mine. Even got takeways :D
No complaints with morphine! Last time I had it was after dislocating my knee on my 21st, but that's another whole story... No takeaways unfortunately.

Also had ketamine injected into my hand (they missed the vein) which burnt like hell, so three male nurses could pop my dislocated shoulder back into place which hurt like a mf. Another story lol.

Whoa kidney stones sound like fun 🥴
Imagine what it must have been like before modern medicine when they didn't know what caused them, you couldn't have them surgically remove and there wasn't any pain killers other than alcohol, good times

They put me on morphine and oxycodone and it still felt like I was dying lol

I had kidney stones / uric acid stones almost yearly that popped up for decades until my current Doctor tested me for Vitamin D deficiency. Ever since I've been taking high doses (50000 IUs) of Vitamin D2 (Calciferol) I have not had a problem since. It's so hard to diagnose because the cause can be for so many reasons depending on your existing medical conditions and biology.

Sounds like fun. :p

Yeah, I'm hoping it doesn't get to a point where a stone becomes obstructive because I'm a stubborn bastard and won't see a doc unless I'm almost dead. I've gotten used to chugging a few litres of water every day and one or two beers for the diuretic effect, and then I piss like a racehorse.

I'm also pretty active daily, but yesterday I was moving fridges and furniture around, which I think dislodged some smaller stones.

I'll probably have to get another opinion (3rd), so I'll do some research about echolithotripsy and make sure to ask about it.

If it's obstructive you will feel near death for sure.
