Legally Copying a DVD

DVD Ripping and Back-up... and Video Tools..


1) To make a backup of a DVD to another DVD...
Install this program first... it will remove the copy protection and macrovision while you decrypt... (and will also allow you to watch region protected discs in the future)...

When you have that installed, then use DVD Decrypter to rip the DVD to your hard drive...

Once you have it ripped to your hard drive, use DVD shrink to make the image smaller and turn it into an ISO file that I can fit onto one DVD... Note: you have to select ISO image as the target file from the drop down menu.

Question - DVD Decryptor is used to rip to drive and rip through the protection.

Why then do you suggest we use dvd43 as well ?

I normally rip with DVD Decryptor, then make a movie-only iso with DVD Shrink, then reduce it with FUW.

Jip. I found this weekend that dvd43 is overkill as well.
But dvd43 should in theory remove region encryption. I'll go dig up a Region 1 dvd and let you know how it goes.

Way too much trouble. Just use DVD Fab. Plain and simple. Region free!

Ja, I only put DVD43 in there because there are some newer DVDs which give problems for DVD Decrypter... like Casino Royale.

If you come across a DVD which simply does not want to rip to a backup, then use DVD43. Otherwise I would not load it since it can interfere with CD Burners and Virtual Disk Utilities.

Is there a way to batch convert a number of iso files with Fairuse Wizard or can you only do them one by one.

hmmm, I've never done that. I've only ever done them one at a time. I don't think so.
