Hey everyone

Got myself this phone with a new contract about 2 months ago because I wanted something different ie. a smartphone.

It didnt really turn out to be all i expected and don't make use of all the features etc, especially with cellc's crappy data services. So i decided to go back to my old more user-friendly D500.

The phone is in very good condition and was well taken care of while i was using it. I have all the contents of the box it came in except the box itself :P

I'm looking for about R2000 for it. PM me if you're interested.
 
Got it with a contract? Can you legally sell it without the contract? As far as I am aware, the phone is tied to the contract as long as the contract is around... or are you selling it without warranty?
 
Hmmm thats a good question as far as im aware the phone is mine to do with as I please, i signed the contract and the service provider is still going to get their $$ every month, so what i do with the phone is my business.

As to the warranty i have no idea if it is tranferable when I sell the phone or if its tied to the contract.

Anyone else have any idea?
 
Yeah it is. I bought a SE 910i from a colleague of my girlfriends. I have since sold it to my boss who had a problem with the keypad. Hey took it in and they replaced it no worries. I think the guarantee lasts for 12 months.
 
Thanks for the info Juggy, do you know the process involved in transfering the warranty, or if there is even one? Do i just hand over the phone to the buyer and it sort of gets tranfered with the phone?
 
Yep, just give it too the person with the proof of purchase and bobs your uncle. If it was a vodacom contract you should have gotten a year extension on the warranty aswell.
 
I didn't transfer anything. When there was a problem he simply called the SP and reported it faulty. It was purchased from someone on Vodacom network and I'm on MTN. My boss is on Vodacom. The condition for the guarantee to be honored is the phone must have been used for 30 days or more on the Vodacom network during the last 90 for them to honour the guarantee. This is why it's better to sell you phone to someone on the same network.

If the phone was purchased from Vodacom you get 2 year guarantee but if purchased from anywhere else it's only 1 year. Vodacom has a longer gurantee period to make their deals more attractive.

Call CellC and see what their terms are like. You don't have to tell them who you are just ask about the guarantee.

You don't need proof of purchase as this is determined by the IMEI number.
 
lol of course you can sell them geez you pay for the contract

the phone is yours to do with what you like
