I don't think we need our own special server however some form of gateway that will give us the best possible latency to Europe/US servers would be cool

Now that is a great idea!
I will support that plan, question would be how to implement it? Get one of the ISP's to offer such a service at an aditional cost? or does Saix or Verizon need to improve the routing?

uhmmm, quick question... why play on a South African WoW server when you can play on a EU server with lots and lots of players? i doubt we would be able to fill a server, and even if we do, then we would miss out on all the swedes, dutch and brits.

One EU server has about 3-7K player depending on its popularity, yet we have 10K South African who play on them?
In other words, we should have enough SA players to fill up a single server.
Although I dont think its all that likely to happen...

PVP back in the day wasnt cross server contests, it was contests with the PVP players on your very own server, and the same can be implemented for a SA server.
Only thing is convincing Blizzard to do this.... which we all know will never happen.
