Looking for a new HTPC. Need some advice...

Where did buy your OUYA and have you successfully installed the PseudoTV? I'm thinking of buying one.

I had no issue buying it from amazon iirc.... Placed order and it arrived 2 weeks later.

I haven't installed anything other than xbmc in it yet, but it's currently packed away with all my other electronics while I do renovations at home.
 
It's arrived!

Amazon was a bit faster than anticipated, so Msata SSD still on its way from Takealot.
 
Feedback please. Looks tiny. What's needed to get the nuc working properly?

1) Msata SSD - I ordered a 32gb, don't really need more space as I'm running of Microserver
2) Ram - I bought 8gb

That's it. i3 and the new Haswell processor, should be more than enough juice and light on power consumption.

You could add wifi - I don't need it though. It has an IR sensor so Harmony remote will work.

Will provide more feedback once assembled and I've played around a bit.

Could one use a USB drive to boot from if simply using Openelec or Linux plus XBMC?

Apparently yes, but I've read it could impact on fan art loading etc. in XBMC. How noticeable it will be I can't say.

R5,300 landed including 8GB RAM. Took the brunt of a free-fall dollar...but figured any SA stock that eventually arrives will be priced the same. Was about R4,200 when I first started looking... :(

mSata is ready for collection at Takealot so should hopefully begin playing with it tomorrow evening.
