Manto's Botswana files missing

Her files seem to go missing all over the place. How convenient ey tibby? No alarm bells ringing yet?
 
Is she going to take them to court as well, to get it back? For some reason I don't think so.
 
The files are thirty years old, I'd be surprised if they could be immediately retrieved. The same story at iol includes a little more detail:
[former Botswana senior bureaucrat] Seema told Independent Newspapers last week that a mental health expert, the late Dr Giuseppe Sbrana, wrote to him pleading for clemency for Tshabalala-Msimang, claiming that she was a kleptomaniac and being treated for the condition.

I find it rather curious that IOL broke the Klepto story as front page Sunday news (I saw it in the Sunday Tribune (DBN)) and the Sunday Times refered to IOL breaking the news in their page 5 article.

Still, Manto is in a bit of a legal pickle.

Illegally obtained documentation may be inadmissable in a criminal trial, but if Manto wanted to sue the Times (and now IOL) for defamation of character, the evidence in a civil suit is perfectly admissable irrespective of how it was obtained.

Hence Manto's primary action is for the return, and or destruction of records.

I think the Sunday Times wants Manto, to sue them for defamation, because frankly I think they can prove everything they've printed.

Ag really. Check the records of who visited there within a day of the news breaking ...
 
Now if only she and the Poisonous Ivy would go missing too...
