You sound like a young cousin of mine who was left in a room with a big cake. Half of the cake was eaten, but he denied doing it, saying "nobody saw me, so prove it!".

Many of the challenges you put are just silly - did you compile them?
The Grippen was also not the aeroplane of choice. I believe the Generals wanted a French Mirage. Supposedly because we already had French aircraft in numbers - Mirage/Cheetah/Puma/Oryx etc.. as well as the Impala (Italian). The Grippen was not the best choice for hot, high & dusty conditions.
Sorry, but I simply don't understand your reasoning about having the Hawk and the Aeromacchi at the same time!
The aircraft we have are propeller-driven turboprops, not jet trainers. They are not considered lead-in trainers for any sophisticated fighter aircraft on the market.

The SAAF prefered the Italian trainer. This has been reported many many times.Challenge #6
The BAe Systems Hawk satisfied the requirements for a trainer to prepare pilots to fly the Gripen. Had we bought the Aeromacchi trainer, we would still have to buy the Hawk and use the Italian trainer to prepare pilots to fly the Hawk, despite the fact that our airforce already has trainers to prepare pilots to fly this aircraft. Clearly it would be absurd to proceed in this manner. We challenge McGreal to produce one fact to demonstrate that what we have said is false.

Challenge #7
McGreal says our airforce was "strongly opposed to buying the British fighters". This is a blatant lie. We challenge McGreal to produce one fact to substantiate his claim.
