missed calls from strange numbers

I am having problems with mnet transmision and contackted Multichoice on thuesday regarding this matter via their Facebook page.I was asked my full names id number and my cell number.
Ever since then i have been receiving missed calls from a 21 number and according to my caller id the number is from Multichoice, Cape Town Western Cape when i then called Telkom to verify the number as i read a few weeks ago that people receive missed calls and when caller calls back their phone account gets cleaned out of funds.I was told by Telkom that they have no records of sutch phone numbers making me wonder if there is a security breach at Multicoice because it seem more than coincedental that soon after supplying my info to them i am receiving these strange miss calls.
Are there any other person that has experiencing simmular incidents?

Those numbers giving missed calls that try to steal money when you call back are from overseas, Cape Town is not overseas. Telkom might not know the number anymore, cause Multichoice moved over to a VOIP provider.

Got another miss few minutes ago number is 041 0010034 and says Dstv sales Port elizabeth,Eastern cape. every other call i received just the area code changed, had 3 from 021 and one from 031 and now 041?

Just tried calling the last number i received from an old phone with a pay as you go sim and and a voice reply says no such number, rather strange?
 
I got a call this week, number stating, it is a spam caller, so I did answer, wanted some fun, and it was Absa bank.
