More nostalgia

Cyan and pink graphics were the ****

Thanks for the memories :) especially the latter end of the 80s. A game I always wanted to get and never did was willy Beamish. Played at a friend's house and did not finish it

I remember seeing screenshots of Half Life 1, and my jaw hit the floor. It was like looking at real life.

Then I saw videos of HL2, and again I was like this is amazing, this is so interactive and life-like.

Htf did you guys put up with the bad gfx, bad sound and insane prices for ibm compatibles in those days when there were better & cheaper alternatives around?

I only got my XT in 1986, while the 386s came out in 1987. So it had already dropped to a reasonable price. I was always behind the curve as far as hardware was concerned, which was kinda cool, since when coding I would try make my XT do what those with 286s were doing and my 386 do what those with 486s we’re doing, etc., which gave me a lot of insight into the underlying hardware and performance optimization.

90% of all games were free, much cheaper than the alternatives :). The 80s in SA was piracy heaven, even Game and places like that sold pirated games and consoles.
The TV games we got were famiclones and all the games were pirated, horribly as well most of the time.
PCs were the same most games/ software was pirated due to limited local availability. Also clone PCs weren't that expensive not compared to now.
