Does anyone know how to set the apn for this phone? I am trying to set up an internet connection over bluetooth but it seems to need the apn.

Most people don't need the modem initialization string ("connect string") at all. It's only needed on older phones. Just make sure your APN is correclty entered as "vdata" without the quotation marks on your phone itself, and it should work.

I use the initialisation string for my v1050. I didn't realise that this is an "older" phone already.

Sorry sky.akash, I was generalizing. I should have said phones that don't generate the initialisation-string automatically instead of "older" ones. That was kind of like talking about "older" cars when I meant those that don't have ABS.

Could you maybe post the initialisation string for vmobile here, if you know it, because I know of many people who need it.

No problem :D

If you are using the dial up number as *99# or *99***1# the initialisation string is as follows

Code:
AT+CGDCONT=1,"IP","vdata"

If dialing with 2 or 3 at the end just substitute accordingly in the string:)

Thanks, I'll forward that to people I know of who are having problems setting up their phones as modems to see if that solves anything.

lets us know if you are successful, as i am also interested in getting a v360 just for internet purposes.

what is the connection speed?

also, probably a stupid question, on which network cell c or vm

This is where the actual problem lies. On my Nokia I just set the apn on my phone but on the Motorola there doesn't seem to be an option like this for modem use. One of the many reasons I never want one, their menu's also just too complicated and general.

Thanks :) I've tried numerous strings very similar (can't remember if that was one of them) including the one in the modem log and none worked. Will try this one next time.

Thanks, that seems to fix everyone's problems. :)
