Hello guys

Is there anyone who works for MTN here?

I bought airtime via cellphonebanking (FNB - *1208321#) for wifey on Saturday afternoon (1st Dec, 17H55). Wifey's MTN # has been Off since Friday morning the 30th (she uses two #s). She only switched on the MTN # this morning at 9. Even by now that airtime is still not in

I called FNB and explained my story. I was told that they will contact MTN and then get back to me in 2-3 working days. WTF

I asked wifey to call MTN (173) but she was told that I need to call them.

I then called them and they said that, 1) their system is off, so they cant check wifey's balance, 2) Its actually a bank issue not thier issue - I need to call the bank again!!! and 3) I must just keep calling them up until their system is up and running, then they can try to assist me.

Is this the service that we ought to get?

HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Are you sure you entered the correct number? Double check it. If it's incorrect, you are liable, not the bank or mtn.

Dude, If the number was incorrect Iwouldnt be wasting my time here would I:D

Valid question though, but the number is correct bro. Its stored under my receipients and I recharge it often.
Thanks

Okay, that's sorted then.

If it's not sorted out in 2 to 3 days (I know it's a schlepp to wait for them).

Trod off to www.hellopeter.com and post a complaint, should be sorted out in a day or so.

Why don't you just load another bunch of airtime (via bank or recharge card) while you wait for this transaction to be validated and corrected? In my experience failed banking transactions are always recovered after the necessary checks.

U right about that, but I need a recharge voucher - not via the bank again in case I just end up confusing them or something. We'll buy her a recharge voucher later on my way home.

I really thought CB (cel-bank) was easy, reliable & hassle free, afta this incident, I may need to reconsider:mad:
