I'm pretty sure MTN is aware of the problem in durban right now, but i'm posting just incase they don't, it's been at least 5 days since it started yet it still goes unresolved (which leads me to believe mtn staff use vdc simcards), the problem occurs mostly at night, everyone i know on the MTN network has to sit there and redial a number about 20 times before being connected, it's gotten so bad recently that i struggled to send a sms...

So what the hell is going on MTN?

Gladiator, I am in Port ELizabeth and have had the same issue since Friday - only in the evenings and at night. Daytime has been fine. Call dials and then drops straight away with "call ended". Put my sim into another handset and it did the same so its not the phone. Incoming calls have been dropping after a short while too. Unable to dial out afterwards. Driving me insane.

Dude, i've been speaking to alot of ppl about the problem, it seems its affecting the entire of dbn, and i mean every tower, i think MTN is too ashamed to admit there is a problem. If there was a news article about it, then maybe someone would be embarrased and the problem fixed.

yep i'm also in durbs with same prob and i know for a fact that even further down south towards port edward also had major connectivity issues at night. dnt know why but it seems like its much better since last night.

just ported to VC cause i'm tired of there cr@p network......waiting for my sim to arrive today.
