I've got a sneakly little plan to get rid of the 3GB cap FOREVER!!!!

The system has one flaw however and that is finding WHAT bandwidth montior Telkom uses.

If we find it then we could delete forever and they won't be albe to monitor us.

Consequences: Telkom will lose their massive profits and we will all be celebrating broadband UNCAPPED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

That's probably just their incompetence, DOMINIC. The moment they note an adverse effect on their revenues due to a drop in additional account purchases for bandwidth, they will promptly investigate and deploy correcting mechanisms, believe you me...

Dominic,

They count the packets passing through their PPPoE servers. There's nothong on your PC that monitors the traffic or any thing like that. I appreciate your enthusiasm for the cause, but please, and this is offered in the best of spirits, please, try not to write anything technical.

Podo, u such an ass. Why do you have to get on his case. I am so sick of people slating other people over what they say. If i make a statement i would like feed back, not for you to tell me i am an idiot. Even if it is in the "best of spirits". Try be empathetic, instead of making ppl feel stoopid just explain what they asked, if you think it is dumb then give them a reason for why, don't tell them in the "best of spirits" your an idiot. That solves nothing!

On to the topic on hand....

That would be cool if that could happen but Telkom is sharp, they would pick that up in no time at all. Unfortunatley the only way i see uncapped Broadband in the next year is via proxies. So that rules that out for most as the R1000 already is too steep. To pay for proxy usage over and above that is madness, Far to much $$$.

There is no peace without war!!!

I also thought he was quite tactful. I have seem some forums that are totally out of control and i have to say in general the myadsl users are pretty good with criticisms.

I agree with Pr13st. I'm just trying to get answer and just because podo is the technical boff around here doesn't mean he, as Pr13st says, can slate me for it.

I'll admit I'm sometimes like that because when you know more than the other person you always think the other guy is an idiot.

well there have been times where i have seen the loggin dissapear for days and days on end, i think there was a 11 day period around christmas where nothing was logged!

i'm the gingerbread man!

Dominic,

I never called anybody an idiot. Well, not recently, or on this thread, anyway. [:)]

At least, just try to do some research in to how these things work before posting. I can't help but respond to those posts. It's not that I want to get on your case or attack your personally, it's just that I couldn't help it when typing my response to the last past. Seriously, no real harm was intended.

sss,

That discrepancy can be easily accounted for in that Telkom will sometimes break something and won't be able to figure out what it is immediately, or, nobody who can figure it out is on duty.
