No. Romaniacs may be a showcase of highly modified vehicles, but it's also a solid demonstration of why the bike that a lot of the market was asking for, and has finally got, is actually a really good idea and a solid package.

Fair enough, different strokes. I'm definitely not the 400k ADV bike with knobbies type either.

If only the KLE 500 had better ground clearance, I think it would've been an absolute winner and a great platform to build on. It looks like a really promising middleweight package otherwise.

There was a Fortnine review that points out all the ways the KLE is not actually nearly as bad as the community have made it out to be. Moreover, they're incredibly well priced right now for a Japanese bike, and the one person I know of with one is very satisfied with it - even took it down some dirt roads and didn't hole the sump! 🤣

Yeah, like we were discussing earlier - Romaniacs isn't actually realistic, and even most people who do actually take their ADVs offroad aren't doing anything that looks remotely like hard enduro.

The biggest point to me is that it seems to be addressing the seat-height inflation issue that makes a lot of starter ADVs unattractive to actual starters. As a less vertically gifted rider married to another less vertically gifted rider, having more bikes out there that I don't need to hang a leg over at every robot is encouraging. The T7, for instance, is a fantastic bike - but if I stop on a slope it's very easy for that top-heavy weight to pendulum over.
 
I want to add a front/rear dashcam to my bike, anyone have some decent products ?
I have a helmet cam, but my cam is giving issues and becoming a pain, hlaf the time it dies even though th battery is charged.

Mounted wired in system seems like the way to go.

Neat, how have you done this? Home Automation Server or something for that specific scenario only?

A family member has his outside lighting for the gate and driveway operating with Bluetooth low energy scanning, think its a little Pi's doing the detection and triggering, only the lights for now as he is still working on its reliability.

Interestingly he has to use 3 detectors spaced along his wall so as to ensure the gate only opens when you are actually in the car and actually coming from that direction, otherwise they'll activate when you walk anywhere near them in the yard.

Chigee and Carpuride seem to be the popular systems and they integrate the cameras with their Carplay screens.

I feel your pain with the T7. It's my current ADV bike, albeit heavily modified with K-Tech suspension for a stiffer setup. Even though I'm tall, that top heavy bastard has caught me out a few times where I'm convinced I would've kept almost any other bike upright. That's actually one of the reasons I went and tested the 450MT.

The KLE 500 is next on my list to test. I just can't find a willing dealer that'll let me take one for a day or two

Home Assistant app monitors my GPS and opens based on proximity.

Can also do it via WiFi connection but I found it less reliable.

You could not pay me to get on that thing in shorts and slops, but Oom Gigachad out giving zero fks.
Is that a 280 section front tyre?
This whole thing has that peculiar sense of disproportionality that you get from toy vehicles designed for action figures.
Very interesting front suspension setup, though. Would like to know what in the world is going on there.

Someone once suggested this guy get a pitbike and the injury to his masculinity was so severe that this was the result. Only explanation.

The amount of money and effort going into that thing must have been huge. Yet the result is an ugly, impractical, uncomfortable most likely semi unrideable pile of junk.

That's what happens when you surround yourself with a team of yes men.

Sometimes you need to stop asking if you can, and ask if you should.

Edit: I'm being ugly now, but I see he is listed as 'separated'. Could it have something to do with him blowing the couple's pension money on that contraption? "Just wait honey, you'll see. We'll get R650k for this bike"
