I have setup a mythtv box (mythdora). Everything works just fine.
Im using lirc for the remote control, and the hauppage remote works as advertised.

I made the hardware for the ir transmitter based on that found on the lirc.org site. I downloaded the remote codes for the multichoice dsd910 remote.

When lird loads it complains about multiple protocols specified. The flags line of the dsd910 has "flags RC5|SHIFT_ENC|CONST_LENGTH" and seems to be invalid. does anyone have a working remote definition for the dstv satelite decoders that works in lirc ?

I don't know the answer to your question - I have installed Knoppmyth myself and have been very happy with it, but I manually programmed the Satellite box which always was a lot of work. It would be much better to have mythtv tune the dstv box.

Let me know if you find out how to do this!

the one ird that i have, does have a serial port( i presume thats what you mean by programming the sat box), but the other one ( newer model ) has no serial. It only has the dish cable in and av-out ( not even rf out ), so IR is kinda a reuirement. I'll hook my scope up to the remote tonight and see what freq it runs at, and then try to make a reciever to learn the codes.

Ok problem fixed. Delete all flags except RC5 and it works.

Only thing is the simple ir transmitter circuit is really weak. The diode has to be flat infront of the receiver. Mybe i'll try a more powerfull transmitter.
