St George’s Park to host entire CSA T20 Challenge

After an absence of almost two years, televised cricket is set to return to Gqeberha when the CSA T20 Knockout Challenge is hosted at St George’s Park in February.

The last time a televised cricket match took place at the iconic stadium in Park Drive was in February 2020, when SA beat Australia by 12 runs in a T20 international.

Owing in large part to the Covid-19 pandemic, the stadium has not seen many spectators coming through the turnstiles in the last 24 months and Warriors chief executive Mark Williams is confident that a successfully hosted tournament could potentially lead to more international matches being played in the Friendly City.

The 31-match tournament, which gets under way on February 7, will see the eight CSA Division 1 teams, housed in a biosecure environment doing battle over three weeks of high octane T20 cricket.

better than nothing. they should have included buffalo park also.... thats a lot of games for one ground.

PE is subcontinent in its nature already... so expect low scoring dog fights... should be good. if dog fights is what u like... and i like me some dog fights.

Buffalo Park is a mess - they'd need to add tetanus to the list of mandatory vaccinations.
