I finally connected to the SADC++ hub the weekend...No problem there.
The problems start once I start downloading something. As it starts downloading I get +/- 5kB/s. Then it decreases quickly to about 800B/s -within 30 seconds. Took the whole day yesterday (16 hours) to get 2 files to 25MB each with many users sharing them.

Now I know it isn't a problem with my connection as I get over 100KB/s downloads from sites and SAIX.

Could be my settings or something - So if anyone else is using this please help - what speeds are you getting and what settings are you using?

I might need to tweak it to work - I don't know.
Thank you in advance.:D

Wasn't aware that there had been enhancements made to the Southern African Development Community.

South Africa Direct Connect is correct, there are two variants of this. SADC++ and ZADC++, ZADC++ has been around longer but is not as advanced as SADC++, SADC++ includes pretty much all the useful stuff from ZADC++ anyway.

As for the problem QuadDamage is having there are numerous possible reasons, the most likely culprit is that SADC++ is based on StrongDC++ Rc10 and has problems transferring files with some of the older DC++ variants. You may also have a MTU size problem, although usually you would have problems with other stuff if it was MTU.

I would suggest speaking to an OP in whatever hub you are using, they can usually help you out with settings and troubleshooting.

Shot - I will do that.
B/W apparently there is an iburst hub only for ibursters. If it is true could someone please pm me the addy.
Thanks

Linux and saDC++

Anyone have a Linux binary for saDC++ or a way to circumvent the server checks? I tried linuxdcpp which I modified but the server checks still get me. I would like to speak to the admins but the hubmaster email address doesnt work and I get disconnected before I can speak to them. Does anyone have advice but wine (doesnt work) sedega (not paying for it) Windows virtual machine (qemu network devices doesnt work well) vmware (I could but would rather have a native solution)

This is just a problem with the hub and setting up your network and router etc etc. It has nothing to do with iBurst.. btw, are you even using iBurst?

You mention SAIX, and dont say anything about the iBurst DC++ hub, the one most people would be interested in. Why exactly would you want to waste your time on a tiny SA DC hub when an international one will do you just as good, or any international P2P, with much more content.

Found this thread through a google search so i'm diggin it outta the grave.

I recently downloaded saDC++ from the webpage and upon trying to run the app, I get the following error: "This beta version of saDC++ had reached the end of its life. If you wish to continue using saDC++ betas, please download a new one."

I download the app from the saDC++ website today. Where can I get the full version if not from the official site?

Any ideas?

Now are you connecting to the joint or to the iBust Open DC hub?

SADC++ is poo regardless of hub (seriously, use something decent that gets updated like StrongDC++ or my personal choice, Apex) but speedwise if your on the joint using iBurst then things WILL BE CRAP even with good settings. However OpenDC should give you blazing speeds if you configure it as per my FAQ.

As far as I can understand you have to be sharing at least 9GB of files before you're allowed on this network. The files have to be hashed before connecting as well. linuxdcpp is working perfectly for me on iBurst but the speeds can be a bit dodgy at times (mainly as people try keep the upload speed to a minimum i think).

Set a share with 9gb in the preferences, hash the file and then try connect. It should work fine.
