Neotel Prime Uncapped: Your Max?

Im loving the prime. been getting a constant, stable 170K a second from giganews. I think RichardG is the only one to have got close to or over 200K a sec...I stand to be corrected.

Enjoy it while it lasts guys ! I had 2 months of great speeds as you are getting and now my latest result is this:
Download Speed: 154 kbps (19.3 KB/sec transfer rate)
Upload Speed: 58 kbps (7.3 KB/sec transfer rate)

I have a call open since September and they have done sweet nothing to fix this. Worse still is no-one wants to give me the forms to cancel !!

Have you tried multiple-connection Downloads. iBurst is also slow on single connections, but if you do 3-4 you get full speed, almost without fail.

Have u tried it?

At 20KB/sec that's 70MB per hour and 1.7GB per day. That's not too bad.
Over a month you could do 50GB. There is no way you'd get that much
out of an R999 TelKom ADSL connection. BTW do try the multiple connections thing.

No, that's not an issue - if you sell a service where the between 300 - 700 kb/s (37 - 87 KB/s) then you should provide it. The results I posted is from neotel speedtest website.

BTW, I used to get 150KB prior to 2 months ago - and this consistent on speedtest, newserver downloads and all others.

Now I cannot even connect to the Playstation store - pathetic bloody service form this so called second operator - more like a back door operator !!

It seems that today my connection has gone to crap. Been cruising at 160K but today...all of a sudden my newsleecher and giganews servers wont work. it connects briefly...spikes to over 100K and comes straight back down to 0 and then hangs at 3 or 4K. I have no idea how or why? Do you think that Neotel have done something from their side?? Because i have been pulling like 8 gig or so a day. What could they do to block it etc...I had it going through port 80 so I thought they couldnt limit that port...any ideas guys?? please.

That was my suspicion all along because for 2 months when I got the service I was getting solid performance - now it's the occasional spike when I start the download and then between 20-30Kb - stands to reason that they are shaping in one way or another or there's something weird on their towers but try getting an answer from these idiots.

mmmm...I went through the same experience with all the previous 'new' technologies / operators...they all are great for the first 3 months to hook you and then it goes for a ball of crap...had it with iburst, sentech, telscum....neotel will be no different. As long as we have SAT3 only they will cap, throttle and ban to conserve bandwidth...come on SEACOM.

I have downloaded over 500 gigs in a week :)
Hope that can count :P

Impossible!!! You would have to have downloaded at 850KB/s for 7 days flat....Can I PLEASE bring my computer and device to your house and leave it there for a week
