I don't think that R2300 for 5mbps uncapped unshaped is that expensive, it's cheaper than ADSL...

Keep in mind, R1150 for a shaped 5mbps connection is fooking expensive... Then again, hoe much do 4mbps adsl guys pay? IIRC, about the same? R150+R554+R500

No,It's an outdoor CPE unit which cables into an indoor router or PC.It uses static IP configuration and you are given a /29 subnet which means you get 6 routable IP's.The equipment is from a vendor by the name of Telsima which is owned by Tata Motor Group.Latency is consistent and ranges between 40-50ms,however the interconnect to SAIX adds an extra 30ms so expect ping times between 60-80s on the SAIX network.You can expect anything between 20-40ms on the IS network.
According to Neotelrep on Facebook, they are working on an Uncapped Consumer Wimax offering. Wonder what the pricing will be.

How to access neotel wimax routers?
Dunno if this is the right place to ask or whether I am even allowed to,
But as a ex wireless technician and installer, I want to know how one can manually check the connectivity and signal strenghts on the Neotel Wimax hardware. I always used to work with microtik hardware, so nice btw, but anyone out there know where to get the software to logon into the router and check settings? Like you would use winbox to connect to mikrotiks?
Here is my reason:
Sometimes we have neverending issues with clients who we service that have wimax connections going down, and then we are stuck with having to phone to India to get the Neotel guys to check what the issue is...
By being able to log onto the units, we can tell out clients if they have a issue locally or on the Neotel network, and we can simultaniously assist Neotel technicians to identify the problem quicker.
