Sure, that's the video bitrate, not necessarily the connection to Netflix nor the line speed.
What I was showing was the peak speeds to Netflix when watching the content, which, at ~70Mbps, buffers a good few seconds of video before it needs to reload.

OP asked about utilisation with left over bandwidth... Was just showing a comparison on usage on a higher speed line than 20Mbps.

Sure it is if you're streaming the video and it'll confirm that Netflix 4k maxes out at just over 15Mbps and thus that you're wrong.

That numbers got a lot of overhead. The real speed requirements are lower:

Service	SD (480p)	HD (720p)	Full HD (1080p)	4K/UHD (2160p)
Netflix	2Mbps	4Mbps	5Mbps	15Mbps

One would assume netflix's recommendation of a 25mbps line is a conservative estimate. So those speed requirements seems accurate. Any ideas what it would be for 1440p? Maybe 8 or 9 mpbs?

Your router is whack or pulling other data as well.

Use a Netflix client with an info display.

Tested mine last night. Same as you guys, 4k netflix running at 15mbps.

That's because it buffers ahead. Bursts of data. That's NOT the data rate of the video itself.

100%, which is why I said it's not the video bitrate but the connection speed and continued to explain what you have just said, in answer to OPs question.
