new to trixbox

HI Guys

I am new to trixbox and was reading a tut on this.Correct me if I am wrong here

1. You need a FXO card to connect your current telkom line to the PC.
2. YOu need a FXS card so that you can use your current telephones.
Do I need this ? Can I not use any other phone and if so which one.?

3. What if I have more that one telkom line,will I need 2 FXO cards.



4. If I am busy on the line-I cannot receive another call ( hope fully I am
thinking here)

Where can I buy these card and the cost please?

Hi,

1, Yes you need the FXO (Foreign Exchange Office) to connect to Telkom.
2, FXS (Foreign Exchange Station) will connect to analog Phone you might have.
You do not need the FXS/O card, you will have to run a dummy card (zt) if you want MOH or conf. calling.

The Digium cards are modular, so you add the FXS / FXO modules that you need for the the amount of lines you have, so you will have one card with 2 FXO modules.. (digium TDM02B)

As far as I know you can only handle one call per line.

Do not by clone cards, they are more trouble than what the are worth..
Buy a Digium card from Miro.co.za .. If yo do not have accoutn with them I'll be more than willing to help.

If I use TDM02B can I not do MOH or conf..call.

Hi.

You need the TDM card to provide timing to the system or you music on hold (MOH) will be all off...
