NO RECORDING ON BBC K (ch251)??

Is anyone else having this recording problem on a dual view SD PVR? I can record everything else on any other channel except BBC K?

Yes indeed. It happens every now and then. I then rescan the channels and it fixes the problem.

Press MENU (on the remote) to access the Decoder Menu
Select Advanced Options
Go to Dish Installation
Enter 9949.....and then select Scan all channels.

Hope it works!

Problem I see around all the "Discovery" channels (121, 250) is no program info, just states Important Notice.... does this mean a rescan of channels solve the problem?

Discovery Channel: playing out backup programmes (28 June)
We have received the following notification concerning Discovery:

Please note that Discovery is playing out back-up programmes, while they try to solve technical challenges that they are currently experiencing.

This means that only generic EPG information is available, as they cannot supply EPG for emergency content.

We will update all accordingly, should there be any change.

Lot's of channels are messed up now for some reason:
BBC K
Discovery SD
and a few others, they have an information pane at which states there is something wrong with the programming or something. Will go check it again quick, but there seems to be quite a few of them.

maybe the guy that plugs in the tapes got tired of all the repeats and blew his brains out all over the equipment!

right tried all the tricks like unplugging the mains / rescanning all channels and still no recording on BBC K

so if u hear of a solution please let me know.

nothing - did a re scan as suggested. also pulled the mains out and left it off the whole day. when I switched on it did a full rescan again and now it seems to be fine?

indeed it is - but something similar happened before when I lost picture on TV2 while watching south park. After been ignored by dstv on their forum I pulled the mains out and left it off the whole day. after it did a full rescan everything was fine. I leave my decoder ON permanently, so I wonder if static electricity build up causes these weired things to happen?

any thoughts?

It's certainly a possibility.
Although I feel I must point out that ambient current will only remain in the circuitry for about 8 to 10 seconds after disconnecting.
I've seen cases of ambient current staying around for up to 30 seconds but those are only extreme exceptions.
Basically what I'm saying is that you shouldn't have to remove the power for a full day to get the same effect.

I just pulled the plug and went to work - was not thinking about how long to leave it off. a minute is enough for the caps to drain.
