Hi all

am currently playing with the N70

Firmware: V5.0609.2.0.1

The following actions seem to drain the battery severely to the point that a charge is needed within about 8 hours:

Lots of writing to the MMC card via Nokia PC Suite with bluetooth enabled. I wrote and re-wrote some large files to the MMC card in an attempt to see if the phone will play rm video clips on my PC, at 5am this morning the phone was bleating low battery. The battery was almost full last night.

If the phones new the battery doesn't last too long, but having said that, It's not surprising that it'd drain after doing tha tsort of thing BT does drain that much power when on idle, but it's going to drain as much power as a normal call while transferring files.

I have noticed in general that BT drains a battery much faster than cable / direct connections.

Wasn't using BT to transfer BTW, it happened to be on 'cos I shared some stuff from my wife's phone. Anyhow battery life is good now that it's turned off and I am not transferring data to the MMC

Solution to this problem:

I had installed a Symbian app on my phone from www.gosymbian.com. This app, goes haywire when the time reaches 12:00am and then causes the phone to consume a lot of power (I think it keeps the lights on) which then drains the battery rapidly. I removed the application and battery life is back to normal.
