Hi,

I am trying to create an internet connection via BT with my n80 but I cannot get it to be detected as a modem, ne advice will be appreciated. I hae installed nokia pc suite.

I've tried that of course but when I go to settings to select the modem there is nothing there. I have tried to add the modem manually as well. My PC does detect the fone, and I can transmit data to and from it.

Sounds like PC site isn't installed correctly. Go to the Nokia site and download the latest copy - the one in the box will have been upgraded.

remove the current version and install the latest.

connect phone using cable - you should see various devices being discovered and added.

run manage connections and ensure that your phone is discovered and that you are conneced to it.

ensure that you have set up your phone to connect to your cell coy. scan the cell forum's here for advice how to do that.

you have added data services from your cell coy haven't you?

you should then be able to connect to internet from pc suite.
 
Nokia PC Suite sucks!!! Tried it with an E70 and it just wouldnt work. Tried all the advice I found on the net to make it work including downloading the latest version from Nokia's website. Nothing worked. Eventually I just gave up.
 
OK, being a tad dof here cell coy?

Will have to dload it with my telskum connexion 2nite.

ShaunSA - how did you connect the E70 to the PC? I have done many PC Suite installations and have had very few problems. Cable is most reliable way of connecting.
 
Funnily enough, the pc also makes a difference. I have problems connecting my 6230 and N73 to my new laptop, but can connect without any problems to my older laptop.
On either BT or cable.

cellular company - MTN, Virgin, C, Voda.

I think that there's an option to do the setup on the Nokia site. MTN definitely have an option to set up your phone and I guess the other players do too
 
Connects via the cable like a charm but I need to be online all day long. Is there a way to enable usb charging ?

Tried cable and bluetooth. Both failed. Was a few weeks back so I cant even remember what error messages I was getting.

On a more positive note I did manage to get PC Suite to work with an N70 a few days ago :)
