Nokia N83 worth waiting for?

Apparently it's expected release is 1st quarter next year.

Features include 5MP camera with carl-zeiss lens, 4GB storage and VoIP capability. Is it worth waiting for this or getting the N80 now?

I'm gonna , when MNP eventually comes.... have been waiting since June

Highflyer_GP, is that 1st quarter date the one for Europe or SA? From what I've seen the actual available-in-store-on-contract date in SA is usually a couple of months later than the world/Europe release date.

It is basically the same that happen with the N80 there is a 6280. and now the N83 is coming so there is the 6288. Release end of Sept overseas and here is the link to the 6288.

Some of the Motorola smart phones support LINUX and SYMBIAN.

like all electronic gizmo's today ... waiting for a new and better model is just not worth it .... cos after you have waited there WILL be something better and faster. (If you are into the computer gaming scene .... you know what I am talking about)....

In terms of form and function, I would go ahead and get the N80 now. And in 22 months time get yourself the Nokia N87 or N88 or N89 ... you know what I mean

Not sure what u mean by it but the VoIP features will usually be based on a standard protocol like SIP.

The nokia N80 was "released" in November 2005. We only got it July 2006, and the shops only recently got decent amounts of stock.

You'll wait till at least August next year for the Nokia N83 - and then you'll look and the new Nokia N85 will be awaiting it's launch. It's pointless waiting...

That's why I prefer to get my phone overseas which earlier and cheaper
