Seems I'm pretty stuck here.

Total noob question, but how the hell do you stop xp displaying the actual day under the clock on the taskbar?

I've never seen it before and then last week it turned up for the first time after I reskinned xp. On reboot it went away (the actual day), but it turned up again today on start.

Any ideas on how to get rid of the day, but not the time... It's making all my taskbar icons pixleate..

unlock the task bar then minimize your task bar by pulling it down, thats if you have it at the bottom, default position

lol! i've never seen that before. if you pull it up some more it shows the date as well, on a big fat zuma-bar. you live, you learn.

I have also never seen that before. The day shows.
Go to run and type msconfig and see what starts up thats not a service you wanted to start up.
I am sure you got a theme pack that displayed this eg..vista theme pack/stylexp

sounds like vista 6 themepack. Rightclick on the clock, "stop LClock" sorted me out.
