noob to WOW. Server questions?

sweet im hooked up to TH getting pings around 500 so im all set ill add you peeps to my friends list and see ya all soon
 
And ofc the ultimate of PVP Alterac Valey where you have 40 vs 40
I have no Lag with ADSL. Only times there would be lag it is server related, i.e. every one in the Battle ground start complaing about lag...
Also no lag in Towns with my conection (but found that lag in towns are more hardware related than internet connection, i.e. have no lag at all in towns with my PC but have lots of spikes with my laptop)
 
For the following experience was encountered:

iBurst=>iWorst=>iCancelled

I found that their support staff were not sufficiently trained to handle a technophobe like myself. The were sprouting words like 'firmware upgrade, RASMTU's' and I was sprouting words like 'Done that, did this, full modem signal and eventually ... iQuit'.

I am using 3G and for the most part it's okay. From 500ms to 800ms on average and I run two WoW accounts and TS on both pc's simultaneously with not much hassles.

But in short, ADSL should be the best bet as the guys in the guild are always typing their pings (From 350 - 700).

can't be more bad than disconnectech was....

i used to get below 300 constant but alas as you said its got worse,I think its when blizz upgraded there servers to accomidate all the new/influx of players joining the game.
 
I dont believe anybody saying they have ever had consistent sub 300ms ping to an official WoW-EU server. Maybe in darnassus nowadays.

Or lets say : I'll believe it when I've seen/experienced it for 1 entire night.

lol. agree

My good pings are 520 to 580. Usually I have between 580 and 620. Its not really latency which is my problem. Its the crappy frame rates, I get sometimes in places like Shattrath or in Nagrand. Sometimes even in some obscure corner of Badlands. Probly my addons, or server related, although after some hectic lag, I have noticed my antivrus proudly announcing that it is now up to date :)
