Poynting announced a new 2-3GHz Antenna

give you a guess who is making the patch antenna for fastcomm?

yup, poynting, however, I'm not driving through to fastcomm in pta to buy it, or have it couriered to me..... they're situated in wynberg, jhb [;)]

Yeah, poynting make good quality antennas, I got on of their 13dbi yagis, works well over 5km, great for war driving [:D]

Why not buy one of these 22dbi puppies and tell us how it performs [;)]

So how do you point at a base station if you don't know where they are? Sentech refuses to tell me, I have tried!

<br />Easy,

You hook up the antenna, and then keep an eye on your signal strength while panning the antenna [:)]

[}:)] &lt;- Has done this with a DSTV dish cuz he's too cheap to pay out a call out fee to a sat guy. Worked 169%.

Poynting are situated in the old HIX Distribution Building in Wynberg.

Would it be possible to use another type of dish to boost / help in gain? I still have the dish that I used when I had a dial-up / satellite connection combo stuck on the side of the house - similar to a DSTV dish.

Nope, I ain't on MyWireless (yet), just trying to get all the little ducks to line up in a nice, neat row...

PS - if anybody in the Randburg area want to play around with the dish and see whether it makes a difference, lemme know. It serves no purpose except as a clothes hanger at the moment... [:D]

Well if you got 200 bucks to throw around you could try getting a 2.5gig feed and sticking it on your dish.

Hey there.

I have a DSTV satellite dish that I am not using. Unfortunately it is on the other side of the house to where the Sentech tower is.

- Do you reckon that would work with the R200 2.5gig feed?

- Would I need line of sight, or would *almost* line of sight be good enough?

Thanks.

Hey

If u get that 2.5gig feed from poynting, stick on a satellite dish. Will it work 100% for Mywireless even though it runs at 3g ?

Dr4k out
