Openweb QW server?

i just connected to that server, so yes it is still active!!
awesome stuff, anyone else keen to play?
 
haha yup, get nquake it makes the graphics and movement so much better!

And in case anyone else wants to play, you don't need the original install of the game you just need nquake(it downloads everything for you =) ).

then crank up nquake and type: connect 196.35.44.112

there quake 3 servers around locally :P like 6
 
yeah but quake3 just isn't quake1 =)
all the old schoolers will know what i'm talking about :D
 
Were there any mods of quake you enjoyed? I was adicted to one called thunderwalker, great maps, grapple hooks and 8 runes. Capture the flag playing. Action quake (quake 2 mod I think) was pretty hot too.
THought I had it all installed but not, will have to search for the disk again.
 
i jus installed nquake on a mac and its working great but I cant see any servers when I do a scan.Im on adsl and have a mega 100wr telkom router, do I need to set up port forwarding or anything? I didnt have to with bf2...? Ive highlighted all the servers in the list set he ping minimum to about 800ms and set most other things to min so as not to ' flood my line'. I also ave no luck connectiong direct to that ip you listed..is it on the standard port~? what is the standard port?

Cool. Be nice to do a bit of QW once a week.

There appears to be a shadowfire irc channel dedicated to this server (irc.shadowfire.org\qw). Quiet, only used for organising games. Briefly played against one of the guys yesterday.

I'm keeping the channel open on a secondary machine here, but I'll try to check my PMs as well.
