Just got a Nokia 6233 from MTN. All settings I received from MTN by SMS.

Internet is working, eMail working as well.

Now I downloaded OPERA MINI but I it's not working. If I want to view a website, it says: check your settings etc.!

My settings are fine, otherwise I wouldn't be able to use 6233's browser.

What can be wrong, what must I do in order to get Opera going?

Have you tried going to tools, help, introduction and tested your network connection on opera mini.

Yes, I have done a test. Below you can read the result. Don't understand a word, no idea what might be wrong...

MNt-MIDP Network Tester Version 1.1 http://mini.opera.com/mnt/
Error: IOExecption Message: Error in HTTP operation. Class java.io.IOExecption

Nokia phones tend to require a Personal Access Point to be set up and activated. This is done under the Settings --> Configuration menu items. Select "Personal config. settings" and try to add a new access point. Then be sure to activate it.

This is how I've got it working on a few phones thus far.

Regards

kkf, have you found a solution yet? I got my 6233 yesterday and am having the same difficulties. Can connect to web via standard browser but can't get past the initial setup test in Opera Mini. I can also not use Gmail Mini (sits forever saying Loading) or synchronise to GooSync or ZYB.

neoassasin, I don't even have a Tools menu in Opera Mini yet. My only options are OK (to start network setup and test connectivity) and Exit. It just says Failed to Conect and refers me to operamini.com/help, which doesn't really help much.

I found that Preferred Access Point is not set by default. Setting it to MTN WEB gets Opera Mini, Gmail Mini and synchronising to ZYB and GooSync working.
