physical differences - PCMCIA vs PC express

Good morning guys

I have an interesting problem...

I've been asked to come up with a way to assist people (telephonically) in confirming whether they have a PCMCIA standard or a PCMCIA Express.

Now, as far as I know, the two slots look virtually similar and the main differences are internal performance differences (I'm not a hardware person, so I have a pretty sketchy understanding)

The problem is, both devices show up under device manager as PCMCIA and in a sales situation (if you're selling 3G data cards over the phone for example) it's almost impossible to get someone to differentiate, especially if they're a n00b.

Does anyone have any cast-iron way to do this, bar sticking a dummy card into the slot?

Excellent, thanks Darkwater - where does this logo usually appear?
Is this something that is enforced by manufacturers?

the logo looks like an orange rabbit stuck in a tornado, and is required to appear on the card itself. As far as I know, there is no requirement to mark the notebook with any logos.

also, the cards (pcmcia type ii and expresscard big) are both 54mm wide and 5mm high...so difficult to tell from the outside.
